Let down trata sobre un bajón, sobre querer salir corriendo. Sobre el vacío de los sentimientos y lo decepcionante que puede ser la gente. Sobre la desorientación que produce que te dejen colgado. Y lo machacado que te quedas. Dando vueltas. Querer salir volando. Y lo inútil que es montar el pollo. Pero sabes que siempre hay alguien ahí. Tú sabes quién es. Sabes con quien puedes contar. Pero estás de bajón y dando vueltas. Y machacado.

Brit Pop

Corría el año 95. En pleno auge del Brit Pop. Davis y yo nos posicionamos. Yo me compraría el “What’s the story (morning glory)” de Oasis, él se compraría el “Great escape” de Blur. Él siempre fue de melodias pop, yo un poco más guitarrero. El primer regalo que le hice fue el primer disco de Suede, grupo del que siempre fue fan. Ese mismo año yo me compré el “Different class” de Pulp. Y esos CD’s nos lo ibamos prestando. Y en el 97 me compré el “Fat of the land” de Prodigy. Y me acuerdo de la cara de su hermana mirándonos perpleja mientra escuchabamos esa música de pastilleros. Ese mismo 97, David se compró el “Blur” de Blur. Y yo lo escuchaba en el tren de Málaga. Siempre fue mi favorito de Blur, sería por las guitarras. Ese mismo 97, U2 publicó “Pop“, y aunque no tenían nada que ver con el brit pop, siempre nos encantó ese disco. Oasis publicó “Be here now“, que era un poco truño. Al final iba a resultar que David llevaba razón en su posicionamiento pro-Blur. Que provechoso fue ese 97. David también me grabó el “OK Computer” de Radiohead y el “Urban hymns” de The Verve. Todo esto en estupendas copias de CD a cassete.

Seguro que me dejo algo en el tintero. Y eso en poco más de dos años.
